the crisp, white bath

White is my all-time favorite “color”. It’s so refreshing, calming, and uplifting. If you are going for a look that is clean and timeless, white is the way to go. It works especially well for kitchens and baths.

Because the weekends never seem to hang around long enough, I thought I’d supply you with an assortment of bathroom eye candy for your Monday morning.

The mosaic wall behind the tub warms up this sophisticated bath.

Top to bottom Calacatta Marble? Yes, please.

Simple and modern.

Mixing in various textures gives this bathroom personality! The charcoal accent wall really makes the white pop.

Austin based architect Ryan Street and designer Elizabeth Stanley curated this lovely bath.

Penny and hex tiles have made a huge comeback. White tile with a gray grout gives off a vintage, lived in look.

color story: camel + navy

I love the color of camel specifically because it can instantly dress up any space. It feels, warm, rich, and sophisticated. While Navy’s personality gives off different vibes – nautical, bold, traditional – these two totally compliment each other. If you’re going for a look that is classic and stylish, but not overly feminine, these 2 are for you.

Try throwing some fun pattern in the mix, such as leopard.

Pair with textures like acrylic or metallic for a more modern feel.

Use these 2 as a color pop in with light walls to enhance a neutral space.

Or go with a deep blue paint color to make the space feel warm and masculine.

These colors have a way of feeling “dressed up” but they can also be more casual too!

Don’t be so square! Do 3 navy lumbar pillows for a nice twist

emerald city

I’m a sucker for anything that is crisp white or mid-century. So it comes as no surprise that I was instantly obsessed with writer Kelly Oxford’s Palm Springs residence. Add in some natural fiber rugs, pops of emerald green, and some plant life, and I’m all in.

Homepolish Designer Orlando Soria (aka Emily Henderson’s old right hand man) was the brainchild behind this lovely project. Truly, he is a design rock star and I am always excited to see his work because you never know what his creative next move might be. He’s fearless when it comes to design, a trait he definitely shares with Emily. And if you follow him on Instagram you know he’s also pretty hilarious.

Loving this shot and contrast between the soft neutrals and bold emerald.

What a great idea to stagger the 2 coffee tables. Great way to fill the huge space between the sofas but not in a massive, cluttered way.

Beautiful kilim rug. And the copper bar stools really give the bar some bling.

to market we go

A couple of weeks ago, we took a company trip up to Dallas for one of the best perks of being a designer: Market. Yes, I get paid to shop. But after conquering a 15 floor building and also a chunk of the Dallas Design District in 2 short days, it can get a just a little bit tiring and overwhelming. I’ve since recovered and am excited to share the experience with you. 🙂

My boss surprised us and upgraded our hotel reservations to none other than the hottest boutique hotel, Hotel ZaZa. Word is that Drake was staying there at the same time as us, and after some brief Instagram-stalking, we are 95% sure we saw his dad in the lobby. Dinner at Dragonfly was seriously one of the best meals of my life and it will definitely be on my hit list next time I’m in the D.
