Seaside Retreat

Simple lines.  Crisp white.  Comfortable yet sophisticated.  What’s there not to love about this Cottage in Seaside, Florida?

It’s home to the founders of the dreamy beach town, Robert & Daryl Davis (who also are husband & wife – truly incredible people!).

It also feels somewhat like home to me!  I had the awesome opportunity to be a part of the furniture/fabric selections for this home, assisting the  talented designer, Susan Byrd.

Timeless ikat.  No one knows it’s exact origin, but this colorful pattern has been pleasing the eyes for centuries, and is not going anywhere anytime soon.

Just in time for the 4th of July,  here’s one of my all time fave color combos!  Bold and eye-catching, sky blue + red has a crisp, classic look that has been stylish in retro and modern designs.

Don’t you just LOVE this??

color story: tangerine + teal

What says “helllooo summer” more than sunny tangerine and refreshing teal??  Tangerine was named Pantone’s 2012 Color of the year, and teal is one of the hottest colors right now.  Pair them together and you get a match made in hue heaven.   Orange and Blue are actually opposites on the color wheel – meaning they naturally compliment each other.  (Whoever said opposites attract was dead on!)    What do you think??

must have outdoor fabric & furniture just in time for summer

Hello friends!  The unofficial start to summer is officially here.  I’m ready to get outdoors this weekend…  No better way to enjoy your outdoor space then to jazz it up with colorful fabrics and comfy furniture!

First I bring you my 2 favorite collections of indoor/outdoor fabrics right now: Echo Design & Windsor Smith by Kravet.

Not only are these fabrics gorgeous, but also durable enough to withstand the outdoor elements or toughest indoor abuse.

.

ECHO DESIGN

Back in 1923, Echo began as a scarf company.  After 3 generations, Echo has grown into a global design company with a wide range of fashion accessories and home decorative products.  As a fusion of classic design with modern American sensibility,  Echo’s fabrics launched earlier this year are a combination of “vivid color palettes of sky blues, lime greens, rich oranges and sophisticated neutrals”.

Fabrics top to bottom: Ogee Knot in
Ocean – 31708-13, Nestled in White – 31734-101,
A Pois in Maritime – 31702-5, Torbali in Tobacco –
31700-6, Esparto Stripe in Peacock – 31701-5,
Ogee Knot in Maritime – 31708-5

This is my favorite fabric.  I love the pattern and aqua color.  I can picture lumbar pillows made from this!

.

Gaga over the dots!

.

WINDSOR SMITH

Los Angeles designer, Windsor Smith‘s latest Kravet collection is designed for and inspired by outdoor living.   As a lover of treasures, traditions and architecture of the past, Windsor Smith has emerged as one of the leading talents in the interior design industry.  Her fabric collections, made up of simple iconic prints from around the world, are a culmination of extensive travel and eclectic talent.

Love me some linen *sigh*

Also have any of you saw West Elm’s new outdoor furniture?? AWESOMENESS.

I LOVE this Nest Chair!!

.

What’s better than a comfy outdoor lounger? A DOUBLE LARGE AND IN CHARGE OUTDOOR LOUNGER!!

.

I know this is neither a fabric or a piece of furniture, but this cork top drink dispenser was way too cute not to make the cut! And it’s made from recycled glass! Double points right there!

Happy Memorial Day Weekend all!  xoxoxo
