summer pops of color

I’m loving designer Thom Filicia‘s latest fabric collection from Kravet!  So many fun and inspiring colors – like turquoise, lime, red-orange – that embrace the exciting yet carefree mood of summer.

This first one is my fave.  You might not be able to tell from the picture, but the green lines are actually embroidered.

Red-orange is where it’s at right now.

This one’s soft to the touch.  It comes in a gray and a blue as well.

This would make a nice herringbone pillow, throw or coverlet.

eye candy: jonathan adler for kravet

The man. The myth. The legend……. The fabric line.

Potter/artist/design genius/retailer Jonathan Adler recently paired with Kravet to develop his new happy line of fabrics.  The collection includes upbeat, funky patterns and bold colors that are characteristic of the designer’s signature style.

Don’t you just love these?? SO FUN.

Here’s my top 5 faves.   View the whole collection here.

Best of San Antonio’s Parade of Homes

Last week, my coworkers & I went to go check out the Parade of Homes at the Dominion here in San Antonio.  With 12 different homes to tour, there was a lot of ground to cover.  Rather than boring you with every detail, I’ll get right to the good stuff.  Here are my personal faves:

.

BEST BACKSPLASH

This is one of the coolest backsplashes. Period.

.

 .

BEST FABRICS

Loving the Kravet fabrics in this room.

You may recognize this fabric pattern from a previous post.  The chairs look absolutely fab in it!

.

MOST COMFY SPACE

Slipcovered sectional.  Neutral palette.  Striped poufs.  Perfect place to curl up and read a book.

.

MOST INNOVATIVE MATERIAL

Maybe I’ve been living under a rock but I’ve never seen this type of wall covering before – recycled paper bound together like grasscloth!  Really cool!

.

BEST OUTDOOR SPACE

This pool is to die for.  The steps across = pure genius.

.

And the U-shaped built-in bench with the orange and sky blue pillows takes the cake.

.

 BEST CRAFT/ACTIVITY SPACE

.

With so much storage and counter space, this room would be the perfect place to house all my little DIY projects.

.

BEST LIVING SPACE

.

This Adam Wilson home was my favorite overall.  Love the use of materials and the open concept….Everything from the architecture to those Barcelona Chairs (*sigh*).

.

MOST CREATIVE HOME

Awesome architectural elements of this urban ranch.  Rustic meets modern, in a very interesting way!

.

Also in the Urban Ranch were these big red doors in the Media Room that closed off for privacy, or opened up the living/dining area for entertaining.  LOVE!!

.

BEST GREEN FEATURE

Yes, that is a giant rainwater collector.  My heart skipped a beat.  Such a great concept – especially here in San Antonio with all the water restrictions we have in the Summer.

.

BEST BATH

Ironically with all of the beautiful baths I saw, my favorite was the outdoor one.  Lets face it – I’m a sucker for pebble mosaics, subway tile, and natural sunlight.

.

BEST KITCHEN

I know this isn’t the best shot in the world, but I can promise you if you saw this Scavolini kitchen you would have fallen in love.

.

BEST DINING

Simple, yet stunning.

.

BEST LAUNDRY ROOM

Ah yes.  I MIGHT actually fold my clothes if I had this type of set up!  (Keyword is might, no promises there… )

🙂

must have outdoor fabric & furniture just in time for summer

Hello friends!  The unofficial start to summer is officially here.  I’m ready to get outdoors this weekend…  No better way to enjoy your outdoor space then to jazz it up with colorful fabrics and comfy furniture!

First I bring you my 2 favorite collections of indoor/outdoor fabrics right now: Echo Design & Windsor Smith by Kravet.

Not only are these fabrics gorgeous, but also durable enough to withstand the outdoor elements or toughest indoor abuse.

.

ECHO DESIGN

Back in 1923, Echo began as a scarf company.  After 3 generations, Echo has grown into a global design company with a wide range of fashion accessories and home decorative products.  As a fusion of classic design with modern American sensibility,  Echo’s fabrics launched earlier this year are a combination of “vivid color palettes of sky blues, lime greens, rich oranges and sophisticated neutrals”.

Gaga over the dots!

WINDSOR SMITH

Los Angeles designer, Windsor Smith‘s latest Kravet collection is designed for and inspired by outdoor living.   As a lover of treasures, traditions and architecture of the past, Windsor Smith has emerged as one of the leading talents in the interior design industry.  Her fabric collections, made up of simple iconic prints from around the world, are a culmination of extensive travel and eclectic talent.

Also have any of you saw West Elm’s new outdoor furniture?? AWESOMENESS.

I LOVE this Nest Chair!!

.

What’s better than a comfy outdoor lounger? A DOUBLE LARGE AND IN CHARGE OUTDOOR LOUNGER!!

.

I know this is neither a fabric or a piece of furniture, but this cork top drink dispenser was way too cute not to make the cut! And it’s made from recycled glass! Double points right there!

Happy Memorial Day Weekend all!  xoxoxo

eye candy: spring fabrics that will rock your world

Spring is here!  This means new beginnings, warmer weather, longer days (hello daylight savings time!) and bringing out the brighter colors.  The good news is that your home can freshen up too with some of the new hot fabrics that have been released for the Spring.

Duralee and Highland Court came out with some great new fabrics for 2012.  Some of my favorites are as follows:

.

From Highland Court’s Global Collection,  this print is worldly and soft.  Blue and green perfection.

.

A vintage birdcage print with a modern twist.  Love the fun colors it comes in!

.

.

A leaf pattern that could be used in a beach bungalow or an urban loft, which makes it completely versatile.

.

This mushroom fabric is just so delightful.   Also comes in green and pink for the daring.

.

Such a fun pattern!

.

Nothing screams spring more than bicycles in hot hues!

.

.

These Kravet fabrics also made the cut:

It’s no secret that I love anything Ikat.   This one is also available in many other colorways.

.

Love the mustard yellow, turquoise, and grey put together.

.

So cute!! And the flower centers are embroidered to add texture. I can totally see this fabric in a girls bedroom.
