treehouses that will blow your mind

I grew up in a house surrounded on 3 sides by a forest.  As a child of about 8 or 9, I remember taking a hammer, nails, and a few boards into the woods to try to create a hangout for me and my friends.  I had a small sledge hammer (haha, clearly not the right thing to build any type of structure) so it didn’t pan out too well.  I think I got about one step secured – just enough to pull myself up on a branch and sit there.  I miss childhood most because of the way your imagination would run wild.  You just think you can do anything at that age, and it’s pretty magical.  I never ended up with a tree house, but it was a cool place to escape to.  I have some pretty amazing memories  exploring those trails.

Here’s some eye candy in the form of some amazing tree houses.  These creative structures are like a childhood dream come true.  Happy Earth Day!

4 iconic 90’s fashion trends that are making a comeback

I have to admit, when I first saw that skinny jeans were back in style, my first reaction was something like “Oh hell no! I’m NEVER caving on this one!!”.   Seven years later ironically, I rock skinny jeans on an almost daily basis.  So many great things were a product of the 90’s, including some of the most iconic fashion trends.  Trends I only imagined that would be left in the 90’s vault.  Clearly, this is not the case though.  Here’s 4 more that are resurfacing:

1. Overalls

In 5th-6th grade, “bibs” were my jam!!  I kinda do think the ones with shorts are (somewhat) cute.

2. Jellies

Jelly sandals were pretty much a little girls dream.  They came in all colors of the rainbow, and if you were lucky, they were sparkly too.  Today’s adult jellies are more neutral, and elegantly embellished.

3. Wide Leg Pants

Around my middle school era, (mid-late 90’s) wide leg pants were the bees knees.  Does anyone else out there remember the short-lived JCNO jeans trend?!  Soon the wide leg was replaced with flares, but I’m seeing more and more of them now.

4. Keds

Hey Taylor’s doing it, so it must be legit.  (You can see her whole collection here.) And yes, those pair in the middle are from Kate Spade!   I just wish that they had as many fun patterns and colors in ’92 for me to dive into.

So what’s next?? The scrunchy??!  How many of these 4 would you consider revisiting?  Do you think they are fads, or back again for a while?
