design obsession: peacock

(Source: Wikipedia)

This iconic bird is the driving force behind many products and interiors that have been surfacing in recent months.  Although it seems to be trending lately, the peacock’s reputation and influence has spanned generations.  Respected in many cultures and religions as a symbol of love, compassion, knowledge, patience, and virtue, it’s bold colors are intriguing yet inspiring.

Lauren Conrad’s Spring Collection at Kohl’s

I noticed the other day at Kohl’s that Lauren Conrad came out with her Spring Collection and I was beyond excited.  I absolutely adore her line because 1) its cheap and easily assessible 2) its up to date with vintage flair  3) it’s like a hidden gem – seriously like my best kept secret!  But oh my faithful blog readers, I will open it up to you :).   The clothes are a little pricey for what you expect at Kohl’s, but they run sales practially every week.  Subscribe to their emails and you will get $5 off for joining, and coupons for like 20% off.  So you can get that tank thats originally priced $40 for $20-ish after sale and discounts.

Oscars: my best dressed list + inside this year’s greenroom

Here are my favorite looks this year (in no particular order):

.

I am not very fond of  Angelina Jolie (TEAM JEN!!!) but I have to say she killed it. (Side note: yes we understand you have a leg.  And your repeated stance was a little bit of overkill throughout the night, don’t you think?)

Who was your favorite Red Carpet look this year?

.

Now I’m going to take you backstage to Architectural Digest’s Greenroom.

.

What is the greenroom you may ask?  Well it’s a VIP room put together each year where presenters and honorees can lounge.  Designed by Waldo Fernandez, this year’s greenroom was inspired by glamour of legendary Hollywood in the 30’s-40’s.
