fall target finds

Here’s my list of Target items I couldn’t live without for this fall:

cute fedora…..bow gives it a nice feminine touch.

sleeveless zip front dress with ruffles…..loving the little bird print

Mossimo Grey Bootie…. 29.99 yes please

Chenille throw… unbelievably soft in this year’s hottest hue

Medallion pillow…..Goes great with the throw, and this cotton/linen down-filled gem is only $14.99!

life in texas

Well since we’ve moved and gotten settled, I thought I’d take the chance to show ya’ll some of highlights of life in Texas so far:

We discovered Naegelin’s Bakery, which is located about 3 minutes from our house in downtown New Braunfels.  Texas’ oldest bakery!

cherry donut = amazingness.

My first try at homemade cheesecake for Nate’s birthday…..and was it delicious.  Not that I’m a pro or anything, but we both thought it was the BEST cheesecake we’ve ever had.  He credits the cook, I credit the recipe and my ability to follow directions.

Also for Nate’s birthday we drove up to Dallas for the Lions/Cowboys game.

The size of Cowboys Stadium is almost as big as the ego of their fans…… let’s just say the better team won! 🙂     (a little sports trash talk never killed anybody)

This is how my 2 loves spend most of their free time.  🙂

Last weekend, I took a drive out to Canyon Lake.  It was absolutely beautiful.

first post jitters!

EEEEEEEEE!!!!!

My very first post….!

Well I’m very excited to have started this, because it’s something I’ve wanted to do for a very long time, but never made the time to do.   I expect it to be a crazy concoction of interior design + local flair + a life journal.  I hope it can help to inspire, give useful information, and encourage people to get out and enjoy life….. because ah, life is too short!

The words Vim & Vintage just flowed so well together.  And perfectly describe the concept of what I believe life is all about:  the balance of appreciating the past and fusing it with the enthusiasm of the present and modern.   One day I hope to own a design studio that encompasses these values.  Until then, you will at least be (hopefully) entertained with the day-to-day struggles, thoughts, and vision of a young designer.

At any rate, I actually sat down and created it so now I’m married to it.  What an exciting new adventure!
